Falmouth has its fair share of restaurants
and pubs serving good value meals. The Three Mackerel featured in
this website probably has the most spectacular views. In town there
are plenty to choose from, naturally a lot specialising in seafood.
The Warehouse tucked in the corner of Custom House Quay is one of
the most popular ... also the Seafarers and Bistro de la Mer on
the main street. If you prefer fast-food there are plenty to choose
from ... Cornish Pasties being the most popular.
The recently opened National
Maritime Museum Cornwall has proved popular and is clearly going
to be a major attraction for tourists to Falmouth. Ten Pin Bowling
comes to Falmouth with The Ocean Bowl also a new addition to the
town's facilities with 12 lanes and also a spacious bar/restaurant
area.
The Falmouth
Arts Centre has a year-round programme which includes theatre
and films. The town library also houses the Falmouth Art Gallery.
This can be found in the town square "The Moor" which
has recently had a beneficial face-lift. This is the main area for
bus pick-ups and also a taxi rank. In summer there is a "road
train" which journeys round the town and Pendennis Point.
From town, follow the road round to Swanpool where
there are plenty of activities. Hire canoes, surf skis, water ski-ing,
also crazy golf and climbing activities for kids. Carrying on past
The Three Mackerel and you quickly come upon Falmouth Golf Club
which is open to visitors. The views over Falmouth Bay make this
well worth a visit. If you carry on past the golf club you will
see Falmouth Garden Centre and next to that is a Pitch n Put course. |
